Workshop with Yasmina
Elegant Arms & Hands For Belly Dancing
Arms to me are the most difficult part of our dance and they can make or break your performance. Arms frame the area of the dancer and will draw the audience to the dancerís movements. The hands and arms can also show emotion the dancer is portraying in her dance and music. They are the icing on the cake in our dance. Arms are powerful and can add so much to your performance. In this workshop we will be combining the hands & arms and flow them into moves.
Tues. 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Mesa Arts Center
1 East Main Street (south east corner of Main and Center)

Belly Dance Zill Workshop
While finger cymbals were an absolutely integral part of every belly dance show back in the 70s and 80s, they fell out of favor a bit over the next couple of decades. Finger cymbals are making a comeback as dancers are exploring and embracing this ancient instrument.

We will learn several rhythms and 4 basic sounds we can make with our zills. We will put them with movement and by the end of class we will be both musician and dancer, gracefully putting zills and dance together.

Please bring your zills to class. Loaner zills will available if you don't have any.
